Kicks and Chicks First Photos
the beginning of Kicks and Chicks
kicks. chicks. beginning. -
Kicks and Chicks first photos were simply based off instant inspiration and creativity. An edgy
photo of Angie Marino with the founder Rod's kicks went viral across the web, sparking
the whole project. Shortly after Angie's photo shoot Janelle Stein completed the first Kicks and Chicks photo shoot.
That shoot's photos were spread fast across sneaker forums, blogs, myspace, and more.
Angie Marino at the time of the photo shoot was an aspiring model with little experience. Kicks and
Chicks founder and Angie were friends, getting ready to shoot photos for practice. Before the shoot Rod and Angie
were talking about latest Jordans releasing. Angie saw Rod's new sneaker pick ups and was looking at them, which
caught his eye. Mentioning the idea of shooting a crazy photo with the sneakers for fun, Angie Marino was totally for it,
ending in the photo shown (right).
Showing obvious progress from our start, we give Kicks and Chicks fans a look into our company history to show the
great progress and dedication. Founded by a fashion fan and sneakerhead, we are copied and mocked but still
have much ties to the street culture that started this sneaker madness.
After Angie Marino's photo spread virally across the web in late 2004, Kicks and Chicks began. Excited about the
progress and gained recognition, founder Rodrick Rainey contacted a better known model friend, Janelle Stein. A
feature video vixen, magazine model, and more, Janelle instantly took on the job knowing Rainey's ability to market.
The first full Kick sand Chicks photo shoot with Janelle Stein was done with Nike Air Force 1 Low Maple premiums. Just
a simple photo shoot, Janelle Stein and her manager came in to assist with the Kicks and Chicks idea. Utilizing a guest
room in a condo, a simple, sexy shot was created.
After that shoot, a 2nd set was begun. In the second photo shoot with Janelle Stein we used the
Nike Air Force 1 Low
Rasheed Wallace premiums (red/white/blue). This set plays an important role for K.a.C. because the logo was visualized
and created from the figure of Janelle Stein. A fit model, she had natural curves that would tell you she's a woman
in the dimmest light. Janelle Stein's siloqhuette from a photo taken in this set, is what the Kicks and Chicks
logo was made from (below).
We have great value in our relationships with Angie Marino and Janelle Stein. Their natural enthusiasm for sneakers and
belief in Rodrick Rainey's idea helped realize the Kicks and Chicks vision. Janelle Stein's commitment to heatlth and
her work as a model helped create the logo everyone has come to recognize. As long as Kicks and Chicks is active these
two girls will be recognized as special team players!
