The All-American shoe company Converse gained some cultural background for a collaboration with 200-year-old British sneaker maker Mackintosh.

The 'Johnnys' are are made of Mackintosh's rubberized cotton that the company has been based off of since their creation. Charles Mackintosh was a chemist in Glasgow when he invented a waterproof fabric, now called Mackintosh Fabric. The Mackintosh Fabric can make for a perfect summer beach sneaker.

They are light, low and always looking good with any costume. Above the sneaker's Converse-traditional white soles and rubber toes, is a single, simple color tone. The collection is released in three tones including navy blue, putty grey and olive green. The matching laces can lace high or low depending on your desired style.
